Ghost Towns, Mines, and More!
Located in the Inyo Mountains near Keeler, CA, the main feature of this mine is a wide, 9000’ long tunnel that extends far into the mountain. Just inside the entrance is a large room with several concrete foundations where heavy machinery had once been mounted.
Outside, there is a powder magazine set into the hillside, fronted by an interesting curved stone wall. A large stone retaining wall is located to the right of the tunnel opening. To the left is another stone structure and the remains of a pair of water tanks.
