I finally had to replace my trusty old Isuzu Trooper in 2016. My last three cars have been Troopers, and I would have stuck with them but they don’t make them anymore. So in February 2016 I got this Toyota 4-Runner Trail Edition with KDSS. It’s a really nice vehicle with a ton of features, including Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, locking differential, ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, “Smart Stop Technology”, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, power windows/locks/mirrors, power adjustments on the driver’s seat, etc. etc. Also, the automatic transmission has a “sequential shift” mode, which allows you to shift gears manually when desired.

Of course it also has a great alarm system, engine-immobilizer/theft deterrent, and a tracking device.

I’ve named my 4Runner “Megaweapon”.

July 1, 2016: Added BudBuilt “rock sliders”.

July 8, 2016: Swapped out the stock tires for BFG KO2 all-terrain tires.

July 29, 2016: Removed stock rack and added Gobi “no-rise” Stealth roof rack and ladder.

January 3, 2017: Added MetalTech front bumper; King coil over shocks; stronger rear springs; about 2” lift.

February 10, 2017: RCI skid plates.

April 27, 2017: Custom filler plate to fit the gap between bumper and skids.
