My brother Jim and his wife Maggi left this world on February 27, 2016. They were loved by many people around the world, and their untimely passing has left a huge hole in our hearts. Some of their many friends have created a loving memorial to them on Facebook. It’s a public page, so you don’t have to be a member of FB to see it. Click the link above.

Cris’ mother passed away on March 25. Here is her obituary as it appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune:
Ruth Henrietta "Crix" Dealy Aug. 26, 1929 -- Mar. 25, 2016 Encinitas
Ruth Henrietta Dealy passed away quietly in her sleep surrounded by family on Good Friday. Known as Crix (short for "Cricket") by her family and friends, she was 86. Born in San Diego on August 26, 1929, Crix was the youngest daughter of Paul and Magdalena Ecke. She grew up on the Ecke Poinsettia Ranch in Encinitas. Her siblings are Paul Ecke Jr (deceased) and Barbara Winter.
Crix was a graduate of San Dieguito High School in Encinitas, and an alumni of Pomona College in Clairemont, CA. On August 16th, 1949 she married Charles William "Bill" Dealy Jr. Together they had three children: Cristine H. Dealy (Dunakin), Charles W. Dealy III (deceased) and Matthew E. Dealy.
Crix a member of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church for 60 years, was a trained Stephen Minister and a long-time Bible Study Fellowship leader. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, she was kind, cheerful, friendly and showed tremendous courage in the face of adversity.
She is survived by Bill, her devoted husband of 66 years; her daughter Cris and husband Ray Dunakin, and son Matt and wife Kim Dealy plus 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Ecke, Jr. and by her parents.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 1, at 2 p.m., at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
