Goldfield was home to over 30,000 people at its peak. Now about 400 remain. Much of the town was wiped out by fires and an infamous flash flood. There are still many historic buildings, mines and ruins in and around the town.

In recent years, someone has been collecting railroad equipment and artifacts in Goldfield, apparently with the intention of creating a railroad museum there. To see photos of this equipment, go to my new Goldfield Railroad Artifacts page
