Ghost Towns and Mines

This was an early mining settlement west of Ely, near the town of Ruth, NV. There only remaining structure is a crumbling miner’s cabin at the base of Keystone Hill.

The Nevada Northern Railway tracks pass by this cabin just a short distance away. Those onboard the excursion trains are treated to descriptions of the various sites along the way. According to that narration, this cabin was once used by newlywed couples and became known as the “honeymoon cottage”.

I was only able to get a few photos from a distance, due to fencing and the thick brush surrounding the cabin.
