Ghost Towns, Mines, and More!
The first claim here was filed in 1920; however mining didn’t begin until 1942 and lasted until 1968. Zinc was the primary ore. The mine produced more than five million pounds of zinc, along with 650,000 pounds of lead and 4000 ounces of silver.
The large wooden headframe includes a small ore bin, and is in excellent condition. The hoist house is corrugated metal over a steel frame. All of the equipment has been removed from the hoist house. Trays of modern core samples are stacked all around the mine and inside the hoist house.
