Ghost Towns and Mines
Ghost Towns and Mines
Old mining town north of Tonopah in central Nevada. Still partially occupied, with many abandoned mines and historic ruins.
Silver ore was first discovered here in 1866. Mining occurred off and on for several years. The big boom came in 1905 with the discovery of richer deposits.
In 2011 I explored an area known as Consoldated Gulch, located in the hills above town. There I found extensive mine and mill ruins.
