Ghost Towns, Mines, and More!
McEllen Canyon is one of many sites in the Hamilton mining district of central Nevada. In the lower end of the canyon is the large and well-preserved Belmont Mill. The Belmont Mine, with its aerial tram to carry ore down to the mill, is three miles away on the side of the mountain and is accessed by a trail coming up from the bottom of the canyon. There is also the Mary Ellen Mine, near the Belmont Mine. These major features have their own pages on my website:
