Ghost Towns and Mines
Ghost Towns and Mines
Minerva is a small site in eastern Nevada. There are several decaying wooden buildings and the remains of a small mill for processing ore from the nearby mines. These include the Hill Top Mine, the Tungsten Queen Mine, the Everett Mines, the Oriole Mine, and the Silver Bell Mine.
Tungsten was mined nearby and processed here, beginning in 1916. Operation lasted until the end of WWII; however some minor work may have taken place into the 1950’s.
