Ghost Towns and Mines

This is a mine in Exchequer Canyon, north of Cherry Creek, NV. It appears to be an old mine that was later modernized and reworked. The mine shaft has a concrete collar surrounded by a section of huge corrugated pipe. The headframe is made of steel pipe held together with bolts. The hoist house is made of concrete blocks. Despite the modern structures, it is apparent that the mine has not been worked for many years.

A short distance down the canyon is a pair of old mine tunnels with pipes coming out of them. The lower tunnel is flooded and has a short section of corrugated pipe at the entrance. These tunnels are probably connected to one of the mines in the Star Mine area.
