Ghost Towns and Mines
The town of Silver Peak is located in west-central Nevada, between salt flats on the east and the Silver Peak Range to the west. Gold was first discovered here in the 1860’s, but nowadays the town mines the dry lake for lithium and other minerals. Silver Peak is the major supplier of lithium in the U.S.
