Goshute, NV
Goshute, NV was a coaling stop along the Nevada Northern Railway. Located in Goshute Valley, the site featured a spur track that goes up a long earthen ramp leading to the top of the coal tipple. A hopper loaded with coal would be pushed up this ramp onto the tipple. It would then dump the coal into the tipple. A second spur track ran underneath the tipple. A locomotive could pull under the tipple and fill its tender with coal.
It's possible that there may have been a water tower here too, but I didn't see any evidence of it.
I visited this site in August 2024.
