The Midas Mine and the Elko Prince Mine are located near Midas, NV in the Gold Circle mining district. Gold was discovered in the area in 1907, setting off a rush that created the town of Midas and produced numerous mines. Low quality ore and high shipping costs soon put a damper on things. In 1915 a mill was built at the Elko Prince Mine, causing another flurry of activity that lasted until 1922 when the mill was destroyed by fire.

The other sites of interest within the Gold Circle district are the Miner's Gold Mine, and Midas, NV.
