Paradise Valley, NV

Paradise Valley was discovered by prospectors in 1863 and a small ranching community soon formed. It was originally named Paradise City. It is still an active agricultural center. Although it is not a ghost town, it has many wonderful old buildings. Some are still in use, while others are no longer inhabited. Quite a few structures were made of adobe.

The most fascinating building is the Micca House. It was built as a store in 1871. An addition was built in 1879, and in 1905 the building was expanded again to its present configuration. It housed a hotel, a saloon, and a number of other businesses. Though decaying, it remains a wonderful example of "Old West" architecture and is listed on the National Registor of Historic Places.

I visited this site in June 2024.
