Trinity, NV
Silver ore was first discovered in the Trinity Range in 1859, and in 1863 the Trinity Mining District was formed. A town named Trinity sprang up, with a hotel, a store, and several stone cabins. A five-stamp mill was built in 1864. A year later the mill was disassembled and moved to another mining camp. The town struggled on and ore was still being shipped, until the mines gave out in 1870 and the town was abandoned.
Some mining activity occurred sporadically in the 1910s, the 1930s, and ended in 1942. After WWII only some minor placer prospecting took place.
I visited Trinity, NV in June 2024.
